Aetna is a hamlet in southern Alberta, Canada within Cardston County,{{AltaML}} located {{convert|2|km}} east of Highway 2, approximately {{convert|70|km}} southwest of Lethbridge.

Settlement of the Aetna area began in 1888.{{cite book|title=The Utah Genealogical and Historical Magazine, Volumes 9-10|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=L7M3AQAAIAAJ&pg=RA1-PA8|year=1918|page=8}} Until 1893, the area was known as Snake Creek. In 1893 the community was named after Mount Etna by John W.
