Anatea is an ant-mimicking genus of South Pacific comb-footed spiders that was first described by Lucien Berland in 1927.{{cite journal| last=Berland| first=L.| year=1927| title=Sur une araignée myrmécomorphe de Nouvelle Calédonie| journal=Bulletin de la Société Entomologique de France| pages=52–55| volume=1927| author-link=Lucien_Berland}} {{as of|2020|05}} it contains three species, found in Australia and on New Caledonia:
Originally placed with the sac spiders, it was moved to the comb-footed spiders in 1967.{{cite journal| last=Reiskind| first=J.| last2=Levi| first2=H. Previously considered as a genus with a single species, two new species were identified in tropical Australia in 2017.
Myrmecomorphy is found amongst the salticids and Corinnidae families, but it is unusual amongst other theridiids.{{cite journal |last1=Smith |first1=Helen M. |last2=Harvey |first2=Mark S. |last3=Agnarsson |first3=Ingi |last4=Anderson |first4=Gregory J. |authorlink1=Helen M.
