Archdeacon of Manchester

The Archdeacon of Manchester is a senior ecclesiastical officer in the Church of England in Greater Manchester.
The archdeaconry of Manchester was established on 29 September 1843{{London Gazette |issue=20265 |date=29 September 1843 |pages=3173–3174 }} a few years before the Diocese of Manchester (on 1 September 1847.){{London Gazette

|date=31 August 1847
|pages=3157–3160
}} The archdeaconry was therefore initially, for the time being, established in the Diocese of Chester.
