Attack of Lalish (1415)

The Attack on Lalish in 1415 was led by the Shāfi‘ī theologian ʿIzz al-Dīn al-Hulwānī, who, with military support from the Sunni Kurdish Sindi tribe and the lord of Ḥiṣn Kayfā, attacked Lalish and burned down its temple. The Yazidis later rebuilt the temple and the tomb of Sheikh ʿAdī.{{Cite book |last=Kreyenbroek |first=Philip G. |url=https://books.google.de/books?id=E4FpDDbrvqkC&pg=PA36&dq=Lalish+1415&hl=de&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=gb_mobile_search&ovdme=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjCjviVq7KMAxXa6wIHHf09NfIQ6AF6BAgFEAM#v=onepage&q=Lalish%201415&f=false |title=Yezidism in Europe: Different Generations Speak about Their Religion |date=2009 |publisher=Otto Harrassowitz Verlag |isbn=978-3-447-06060-8 |language=en}}{{Cite book |last=MacKenzie |first=D.
