Syrian civil war
In June 2015, Ayn Issa was taken over from ISIL by the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) militia, Women's Protection Units (YPJ), and the Raqqa Revolutionaries Brigade in the course of their Tell Abyad offensive.
