Boone Lake is a reservoir in Sullivan and Washington counties in northeastern Tennessee, formed by the impoundment of the South Fork Holston River and Watauga River behind Boone Dam.[http://www.tva.com/sites/boone.htm Boone Reservoir information] {{webarchive |url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080515234342/http://www.tva.com/sites/boone.htm |date=May 15, 2008 }}, Tennessee Valley Authority Boone Reservoir’s {{convert|4,400|acres}} extend along the South Fork Holston River forming two river extensions. According to TVA, “at maximum pool level, one arm of the lake extends about {{convert|16|miles}} up the South Fork Holston River, and the other extends approximately {{convert|15|miles}} up the Watauga River".
The dam and reservoir are maintained and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The lake has a surface area of about {{convert|4400|acre|km2|sigfig=2}} and a flood-storage capacity of {{convert|75829|acre.ft|m3|lk=in}}. Water levels in the reservoir fluctuate over a range of about {{convert|20|ft|m|sigfig=1}} over the course of a year.

Recreational facilities on the lake include a swimming area and a boat ramp. Water skiing and fishing are popular activities on the lake.
