Background

Although Young did not plan to release an EP prior to his full-length album, after "Sleep Without You" was published, Young knew that he must distribute his music to fans as soon as possible.{{cite web|url=http://theboot.com/brett-young-ep-2016/|title=Country Stardom Wasn't Brett Young's First Career Choice|author=|date=|website=The Boot|accessdate=17 October 2017}}{{cite web|url=http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/country/7686021/brett-young-debut-album-interview|title=Brett Young Talks Getting Raw & Real on Debut Album: 'You Only Get One Chance to Make a First Impression'|author=|date=|website=billboard.com|accessdate=17 October 2017}}
