Buzzoven (typeset Buzzov•en) is an American sludge metal band from Salisbury, North Carolina, formed in 1990.{{cite book|title=The Guinness Who's Who of Heavy Metal|editor=Colin Larkin|editor-link=Colin Larkin (writer)|publisher=Guinness Publishing|date=1995|edition=Second|isbn=0-85112-656-1|page=71}} The band was known for being one of the founders of the sludge genre along with Louisiana's Eyehategod and Acid Bath,{{cite news |last=Ayers |first=Chris |url= https://exclaim.ca/music/article/buzzoven |title=Buzzov*en |work=Exclaim! |date=February 2, 2010 |access-date=May 10, 2019}} and also for their out-of-control and violent live shows. The only constant member during this time has been Kirk Fisher.
