Caldimicrobium rimae is an extremely thermophilic, strictly anaerobic and facultatively chemolithoautotrophic bacterium from the genus of Caldimicrobium which has been isolated from the Treshchinnyi Spring from Uzon Caldera in Russia.{{cite journal|last1=Parker|first1=Charles Thomas|last2=Taylor|first2=Dorothea|last3=Garrity|first3=George M|editor1-first=Charles Thomas|editor1-last=Parker|editor2-first=George M|editor2-last=Garrity|title=Nomenclature Abstract for Caldimicrobium rimae Miroshnichenko et al. 2009.|journal=The NamesforLife Abstracts|year=2009|doi=10.1601/nm.14322|language=en}}{{cite journal|last1=Miroshnichenko|first1=ML|last2=Lebedinsky|first2=AV|last3=Chernyh|first3=NA|last4=Tourova|first4=TP|last5=Kolganova|first5=TV|last6=Spring|first6=S|last7=Bonch-Osmolovskaya|first7=EA|title=Caldimicrobium rimae gen. nov., sp. nov., an extremely thermophilic, facultatively lithoautotrophic, anaerobic bacterium from the Uzon Caldera, Kamchatka.|journal=International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology|date=May 2009|volume=59|issue=Pt 5|pages=1040–4|doi=10.1099/ijs.0.006072-0|pmid=19406789|doi-access=free}}{{cite journal|last1=Miroshnichenko|first1=ML|last2=Lebedinsky|first2=AV|last3=Chernyh|first3=NA|last4=Tourova|first4=TP|last5=Kolganova|first5=TV|last6=Spring|first6=S|last7=Bonch-Osmolovskaya|first7=EA|title=Caldimicrobium rimae gen. nov., sp. nov., an extremely thermophilic, facultatively lithoautotrophic, anaerobic bacterium from the Uzon Caldera, Kamchatka.|journal=International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology|date=May 2009|volume=59|issue=Pt 5|pages=1040–4|doi=10.1099/ijs.0.006072-0|pmid=19406789|doi-access=free}}
Origins of taxonomical branch
Caldimicrobium rimae varies from its family of Thermodesulfobacteriaceae as it is not capable of oxidizing organic acids or alcohols and use sulfur as an electron receptor.{{CN|date=March 2022}}
