The Cavaliers AudioVerse is an American radio network composed of 20 radio stations which carry English-language coverage of the Cleveland Cavaliers, a professional basketball team in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Cleveland sister stations WTAM ({{frequency|1100|AM}}) and WMMS ({{frequency|100.7|FM}}) serve as the network's two flagships; WTAM also relays its signal over a low-power FM translator. The network also includes eighteen affiliates in the U.S. states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia: thirteen AM stations, ten of which supplement their signals with low-power FM translators; and five full-power FM stations.

History

In 2008, longtime flagship WTAM signed a five-year contract extension with the Cavaliers through the 2013–14 season; in 2011, a Cavs spokesman stated there were "multiple years" remaining on the team's contract with WTAM, without specifying an end date. In 2014, WTAM owner iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel) announced a new "multi-year" contract with the team; this new arrangement also established simulcasts on WTAM sister station WMMS.{{cite web|date=October 8, 2014|title=Cleveland Cavaliers Games To Be Simulcast On WMMS, WTAM|url=http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/134264/cleveland-cavaliers-games-to-be-simulcast-on-wmms-|work=AllAccess.com|publisher=All Access Media Group|access-date=October 9, 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20141009130701/http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/134264/cleveland-cavaliers-games-to-be-simulcast-on-wmms-|archive-date=October 9, 2014}}{{cite web|date=May 12, 2008|title=WTAM, Cavaliers Ink New Deal|url=http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/40096/wtam-cavaliers-ink-new-deal|work=AllAccess.com|publisher=All Access Media Group|access-date=October 7, 2011|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20141007093553/http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/40096/wtam-cavaliers-ink-new-deal|archive-date=October 7, 2014}} Additional affiliates were added in the Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati markets, coinciding with LeBron James' heavily publicized return to the team.{{cite web|last=Kleps|first=Kevin|date=September 28, 2014|title=Full court press: How local media is preparing for a Cavs season like no other|url=http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20140928/SUB1/309289982/full-court-press-how-local-media-is-preparing-for-a-cavs-season-like|work=Crain's Cleveland Business|location=Cleveland, Ohio|access-date=October 7, 2014|archive-date=September 16, 2018|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180916093011/http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20140928/SUB1/309289982/full-court-press-how-local-media-is-preparing-for-a-cavs-season-like|url-status=live}}{{unbulleted list citebundle|{{cite news|last=Dyer|first=Mike|date=September 3, 2014|title=Ticket info announced for LeBron's Cavs game in Cincinnati|url=http://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/special%20sports%20report/2014/09/03/cavaliers-announce-ticket-info-for-cincy-and-columbus/15015417/|newspaper=The Cincinnati Enquirer|location=Cincinnati, Ohio|access-date=October 7, 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20141007092712/http://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/special%20sports%20report/2014/09/03/cavaliers-announce-ticket-info-for-cincy-and-columbus/15015417/?from=global&sessionKey=&autologin=|archive-date=October 7, 2014}}|{{cite press release|date=November 10, 2014|title=iHeart Media Cincinnati Joins Cavaliers Radio Network|url=http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/releases/iheart-media-cincinnati-141110|work=NBA.com/Cavaliers|publisher=NBA Media Ventures, LLC|access-date=November 12, 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20141112141214/http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/releases/iheart-media-cincinnati-141110|archive-date=November 12, 2014}}}}
