Timothy Chazz Anderson (born February 14, 1989) is an American football quarterback who played college football for the Cincinnati Bearcats and Buffalo Bulls.
Early years
Anderson attended Pickerington Central in Pickerington, Ohio, where he compiled a 39–6 record as a starting quarterback, winning Ohio's Division II Player of the Year in 2006.{{cite news|url=http://www.buffalonews.com/Bullsapos_Anderson_playing_final_homecoming___Both_parents_to_attend_his_last_game_in_Ohio.html |title=Bulls' Anderson playing final homecoming; Both parents to attend his last game in Ohio |date=October 28, 2011 |agency=The Buffalo News |author=DiCesare, Bob |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612210524/http://www.buffalonews.com/Bullsapos_Anderson_playing_final_homecoming___Both_parents_to_attend_his_last_game_in_Ohio.html |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }} He committed to Cincinnati to play for coach Brian Kelly.
College career
=Cincinnati=
Anderson was redshirted as a freshman in 2007. He entered the 2008 season as the third-string quarterback behind Tony Pike and Dustin Grutza, but saw action after injuries to both quarterbacks ahead of him on the depth chart. Anderson made two starts for the Bearcats on the season, leading the team to a pair of victories over Marshall and Rutgers, before once again being assigned to backup duty after Pike returned from injury.{{cite news|url=http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/sports/2011/09/20/fbc-co-watch-9-20-art-gtae790q-1.html |title=College football: Central Ohio Watch |date=September 20, 2011 |agency=The Columbus Dispatch |author=Znidar, Mark |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612205125/http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/sports/2011/09/20/fbc-co-watch-9-20-art-gtae790q-1.html |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }} In 2009, Anderson once again served as the third-string quarterback behind Pike and Zach Collaros, seeing only limited duty during the season. During the 2010 season, Anderson again served as the backup quarterback to Collaros, making one start on the season while Collaros was injured, a 31–7 loss to Syracuse that would prove to be Anderson's final start as a member of the Bearcats.
=Buffalo=
In July 2011, Anderson announced that he was transferring to Buffalo to play for coach Jeff Quinn, Brian Kelly's former offensive coordinator at Cincinnati.{{cite news|url=http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/06/ex-cincinnati-qb-chazz-anderson-heading-to-buffalo/ |title=Ex-Cincinnati QB Chazz Anderson heading to Buffalo |date=July 6, 2011 |agency=NBC Sports |author=Taylor, John |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612205342/http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/06/ex-cincinnati-qb-chazz-anderson-heading-to-buffalo/ |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }}{{cite news|url=http://www.buffalonews.com/Senior_QB_joins_Bulls_from_Bearcats.html |title=Senior QB joins Bulls from Bearcats |date=July 6, 2011 |agency=The Buffalo News |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612205618/http://www.buffalonews.com/Senior_QB_joins_Bulls_from_Bearcats.html |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }} As a graduate senior transfer, he was able to play immediately for the Bulls.{{cite news|url=http://www.buffalonews.com/An_even_start_for_Bullsapos_QBs_But_Cincy_transfer_may_have_an_edge.html |title=An even start for Bulls' QBs But Cincy transfer may have an edge |date=August 7, 2011 |agency=The Buffalo News |author=DiCesare, Bob |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612205812/http://www.buffalonews.com/An_even_start_for_Bullsapos_QBs_But_Cincy_transfer_may_have_an_edge.html |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }}{{cite news|url=http://www.buffalonews.com/Anderson_gets_final_chance___Senior_transfer_hopes_to_win_quarterback_spot.html |title=Anderson gets final chance; Senior transfer hopes to win quarterback spot |date=August 9, 2011 |agency=The Buffalo News |author=DiCesare, Bob |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612205950/http://www.buffalonews.com/Anderson_gets_final_chance___Senior_transfer_hopes_to_win_quarterback_spot.html |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }} Anderson was named Buffalo's starting quarterback for the 2011 season in August 2011.{{cite news|url=http://www.buffalonews.com/UB_picks_Anderson_for_opener_Fifth-year_senior_adds_maturity_at_QB.html |title=UB picks Anderson for opener Fifth-year senior adds maturity at QB |date=August 21, 2011 |agency=The Buffalo News |author=Moritz, Amy |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612210146/http://www.buffalonews.com/UB_picks_Anderson_for_opener_Fifth-year_senior_adds_maturity_at_QB.html |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }}{{cite news|url=http://www.buffalonews.com/Bulls_QB_wonapost_be_denied_Anderson_assumes_command_of_team.html |title=Bulls QB won't be denied Anderson assumes command of team |date=August 28, 2011 |agency=The Buffalo News |author=DiCesare, Bob |accessdate=June 12, 2016 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160612210335/http://www.buffalonews.com/Bulls_QB_wonapost_be_denied_Anderson_assumes_command_of_team.html |archivedate=June 12, 2016 |url-status=dead }} He started all twelve games for the Bulls, passing for 2,454 yards and 11 touchdowns; however, the team only posted a 3–9 record on the season.
