Come Feel Me Tremble is Paul Westerberg's fifth solo album. Like its predecessor, it is a rough collection of songs that Westerberg recorded by himself in his home.
Recording
Come Feel Me Tremble is a rough collection of songs that Westerberg recorded by himself in his home. The song "Crackle & Drag", which was recorded in both its louder original take and quieter alternate version, is about the poet Sylvia Plath. It takes its title from the last line of her poem "Edge." Westerberg was struck by the calm and considered preparations Plath took before committing suicide.[http://citypages.com/databank/24/1193/article11587.asp City Pages. "Let The Bad Times Roll".] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20070409113527/http://www.citypages.com/databank/24/1193/article11587.asp |date=2007-04-09 }} Accessed June 30, 2008. "What a Day (For a Night)" was written for Bonnie Raitt, who didn't want it,[http://members.aol.com/pwfiles/lv_2004.htm Paul Westerberg web site.] Accessed June 30, 2008. while "Pine Box" is about Westerberg's father's experience of World War II and its lasting impact.[http://www.playboy.com/arts-entertainment/dotcomversation/westerberg/03.html The Playboy Conversation.] {{webarchive|url=https://archive.today/20070616204724/http://www.playboy.com/arts-entertainment/dotcomversation/westerberg/03.html |date=2007-06-16 }} Accessed June 30, 2008.
