Danil Sergeyevich Lysenko ({{langx|ru|Данил Сергеевич Лысенко}}; born 19 May 1997) is a Russian track and field athlete who specialises in the high jump. He won the silver medal at the 2017 World Championships.{{cite web|title=Athletics: Barshim sails to dominant world high jump gold|url=https://www.reuters.com/article/us-athletics-world-m20walk-idUSKCN1AT0LR|publisher=Reuters|accessdate=19 August 2017|language=en|year=2017}} He is currently banned from the sport for doping violations and fraud.{{cite web|url=https://athleticsweekly.com/athletics-news/top-russian-officials-banned-after-major-fraud-1039940714/|title=Top Russian officials banned after "major fraud"|publisher=Athletics Weekly|date=17 February 2021}}

Career

Lysenko won his first international medal at the second Summer Youth Olympics, winning a gold medal in the boys' high jump with a clearance of 2.20 m, ahead of Yuji Hiramatsu.{{cite web|url=http://doc.rero.ch/record/211434/files/Results_Book_Athletics_V1.0.pdf|title=Nanjing 2014 - Athletics Official Results Book|publisher = Nanjing 2014|accessdate=23 August 2014}}{{Cite web|title=Athletics Results Book|url=http://doc.rero.ch/record/211434/files/Results_Book_Athletics_V1.0.pdf|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20161026234354/http://doc.rero.ch/record/211434/files/Results_Book_Athletics_V1.0.pdf|archive-date=26 October 2016|access-date=17 August 2020|website=2014 Summer Youth Olympics}}

In August 2018, Lysenko was stripped of his Authorized Neutral Athlete status and provisionally suspended, due to his failure to provide whereabouts information as required under IAAF Anti-Doping Rules and Regulations.{{cite web |title=Authorised Neutral Athlete status of Danil Lysenko revoked |url=https://www.iaaf.org/news/press-release/authorised-neutral-athlete-status-danil-lysen |website=IAAF |accessdate=17 January 2019}} Lysenko missed three drugs tests between September 2017 and June 2018 which constitutes an anti-doping violation. However, he provided documents stating that he had missed his second test due to being in hospital with acute appendicitis. Further investigations found that the hospital Lysenko was supposedly treated at did not actually exist and he had obtained forged documents through the help of officials at the Russian Athletics Federation. Former President Dmitry Shlyakhtin, board member Artur Karamyan and executive director Alexander Parkin were banned from Athletics for four years by the IAAF, as were senior administrator Elena Orlova and anti-doping coordinator Elena Ikonnikova.{{cite web|date=17 February 2021|title=Former RusAF President among officials sanctioned for rule violations|url=https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1104389/former-rusaf-president-banned-offences|access-date=2021-02-17|website=www.insidethegames.biz}} Lysenko's coach, Evgeniy Zagorulko, was also banned for four years and in July 2021, Lysenko himself received a six-year disqualification from CAS.{{Cite web|url=https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1109808/lysenk-six-year-ban-cas-athletics|title = Lysenko receives six-year ban from CAS in whereabouts and tampering case}} He kept competing in Russia despite the ban.[https://www.championat.com/other/article-4777059-prygun-danil-lysenko-iz-za-kotorogo-rossijskih-legkoatletov-ne-puskayut-na-sorevnovaniya-vernulsya-posle-diskvalifikacii.html Самый талантливый российский атлет вернулся на соревнования после дисквалификации]
