David DeFries (born 24 May 1952) is an English jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist, percussionist, composer and arranger, who was born in London, England. He was also a member of Sunwind, the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Loose Tubes, and the Breakfast Band,{{cite book|title=The Guinness Who's Who of Jazz|editor=Colin Larkin|publisher=Guinness Publishing|date=1992|edition=First|isbn=0-85112-580-8|page=117}} which occasionally recorded sessions for BBC Radio 2's "Night Owls", hosted by Dave Gelly.
