Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (abbreviated to DOA5 Last Round or DOA5LR) is a 2015 fighting game developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo globally for home consoles and computers, and on arcades in Japan only. It is the third and final updated version of 2012's Dead or Alive 5, following Dead or Alive 5 Plus and Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate; notable changes from Ultimate include two additional characters and a graphical upgrade for the new generation of consoles.

Last Round was released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows, and the Sega RingEdge 2 arcade board. Unlike the original Dead or Alive 5, as a download update for PS3 and Xbox 360, the game can convert either the digital versions of 5 Ultimate or 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters into 5 Last Round. Like 5 Ultimate, a free-to-play version titled Dead or Alive 5 Last Round: Core Fighters, was released alongside the retail game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.

=Arcade version=

The arcade version of Last Round was brought by a free upgrade patch for the arcade version of Ultimate on February 17, 2015. It has the Last Round only contents unlocked by default.

=PC version=

The Windows PC version of Last Round is only the second game in the series on PC, after Dead or Alive Online's open beta, and the third game for Virtua Fighter guest characters since their last PC game appearance on the PC version of Virtua Fighter 2. Based largely on the PS3 version of the game, it lacks the two new stages that are exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One versions, but does have the stage effects of the PS4 version. It also does not feature the improved breast physics of the Soft Engine for the characters.{{cite web|url=http://www.siliconera.com/2015/03/18/dead-or-alive-5-last-round-on-pc-is-missing-features/ |title=Dead or Alive 5: Last Round On PC Is Missing Features |publisher=Siliconera |date=2015-03-18 |access-date=2015-08-27}} Originally intended to be released on February 17, 2015, it was delayed six weeks to March 30, with Steam users being given a Halloween 2013 costume pack free of charge.{{cite web|last=Sirani |first=Jordan |url=https://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/27/dead-or-alive-5-last-round-delayed-on-steam |title=Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Delayed on Steam |publisher=IGN |date=2015-01-28 |access-date=2024-03-26}} The online functionality support was promised to arrive within three months since the release,{{cite web|url=http://www.joystiq.com/2014/12/05/dead-or-alive-5-last-round-to-hit-pc-but-online-plays-in-limbo/|title=Dead or Alive 5 Last Round to hit PC, but online play's in limbo|work=Joystiq|access-date=18 January 2015}} but the patch to enable it was postponed indefinitely by the end of June.{{cite web|url=http://www.siliconera.com/2015/06/30/dead-or-alive-5-last-round-online-multiplayer-patch-for-pc-delayed/ |title=Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Online Multiplayer Patch For PC Delayed |publisher=Siliconera |date=2015-06-30 |access-date=2015-08-27}}{{cite web |url=http://shoryuken.com/2015/06/30/dead-or-alive-5-last-rounds-pc-netplay-patch-sees-indefinite-delay/ |title=Dead or Alive 5 Last Round's PC Netplay Patch Sees Indefinite Delay |publisher=Shoryuken |access-date=2015-08-28 |archive-date=2015-09-29 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150929010001/http://shoryuken.com/2015/06/30/dead-or-alive-5-last-rounds-pc-netplay-patch-sees-indefinite-delay/ |url-status=dead }} On October 1, 2015, Patch 1.04 was released on the Steam version, enabling ranked online functionality.{{cite web|url=http://teamninja-studio.com/doa5/lastround/us/info_steam1.04.html |title=DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round Steam Ver.1.04 Released |publisher=teamninja |access-date=2015-10-15}} This patch, however, still lacks the lobby functionality that is currently only present on the console versions of the game.

Hardcore Gamer's Adam Beck endorsed Dead or Alive 5 Last Round for those "looking for a fun, over-the-top fighter with a lot of charm," even as he criticized it for how "the few new additions are far from compelling and there are some unfortunate bugs at launch." Jeremy Duff from Gaming Nexus wrote the "jaw-droppingly gorgeous" Last Round "is an excellent ending point for this chapter of the series. It takes all of the groundwork laid in DoA5 and polishes it off in the best way possible. Armed with an excellent roster of characters and a ton of modes, this is a great introduction to 3D fighting on the new generation of fighters." The only gripe most players had was the unrealistic bot fights in the "Training" mode. The highest difficulty of which granted the bots unrealistic advantages, including longer range, "100% mode" (which rendered players helpless to grabs and throws with no counterplay), and instant speed moves that came with "i-frames", which rarely could be responded to. Developers did not intend for players to train to fight pvp by using the bots, but rather face an impossible challenge. {{cite web|url=http://www.gamingnexus.com/Article/4722/Dead-Or-Alive-5-Last-Round/ |title=Dead Or Alive 5: Last Round Review |publisher=Gaming Nexus |access-date=2016-02-06}}
