Dillon Simpson (born February 10, 1993) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently an assistant coach for the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks. He was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round (92nd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career
Simpson played collegiate hockey for the University of North Dakota in the NCAA Men's Division I National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). After four seasons within the Oilers organization, Simpson left as a free agent and signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on July 1, 2018.{{cite web| url = https://www.nhl.com/bluejackets/news/columbus-blue-jackets-sign-defenseman-dillon-simpson/c-299372120 | title = Blue Jackets sign defenseman Dillon Simpson |website=Columbus Blue Jackets | date = 2018-07-01 | accessdate = 2018-07-01 }} He was assigned to AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, for the duration of his contract with the Blue Jackets, adding a veteran presence to the blueline.
