{{Short description|Windows software for managing iOS devices}}

{{AfC comment |1=The software is in pre-release form, so it seems too soon for a page particularly as, so far, it has not been reviewed well. It was moved back to a draft once before, and has not significantly changed since.Ldm1954 (talk) 21:59, 9 February 2024 (UTC)}}

Apple Devices is a Windows application for managing iOS devices. It is currently available in preview{{Cite web |title=Apple Devices Preview - Official app in the Microsoft Store |url=https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NP83LWLPZ9K?hl=en-US |access-date=2023-12-17 |website=Microsoft Apps |language=en-us}} and is part of Apple's planned split of iTunes into separate apps.{{Cite web |last=Carman |first=Ashley |date=2019-06-03 |title=Apple breaks up iTunes, creates separate Podcasts, TV, and Music apps for macOS |url=https://www.theverge.com/2019/6/3/18647182/apple-itunes-podcasts-music-tv-mac-os-wwdc-2019 |access-date=2023-12-17 |website=The Verge |language=en}} The application is distributed through the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 version 22H2 and later and is unique to Windows, because device management functionality is integrated into Finder on macOS.{{Cite web |title=iTunes is dead. Similar to the build of iTunes released through the Microsoft Store, Apple Devices utilizes an embedded copy of Apple Application Support,{{Cite web |title=What is apple application support? - Apple Community |url=https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3533787?sortBy=best |access-date=2023-12-17 |website=discussions.apple.com}} along with its components such as MobileDevice.{{Cite web |title=Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows |url=https://support.apple.com/en-us/102347 |access-date=2023-12-17 |website=Apple Support |language=en}} In contrast to iTunes, which relies on a port of macOS's AppKit to Win32, Apple Devices has been rebuilt using the Windows Runtime and Windows UI Library. It leverages the AMPDevices core frameworks, akin to those employed by Finder.
