Drag the River is an American alternative country band from Colorado.
History
Drag the River formed in 1996 when Chad Price of All began working with Jon Snodgrass of Armchair Martian, Paul Rucker and J.J. Nobody of the Nobodys. They released Hobo's Demos in 2000. Steel guitarist Zach Boddicker joined the band in 2001 around the time they were touring the US West coast. They then released Closed through Upland Records in early 2002; that same year, the live album Live at the Starlight was released through Mars Motors Records. Outtakes from Hobo's Demos were released under the name Chicken Demos in May 2004. Boddicker left he band shortly afterwards to return to education. Chad Rex filled his role occasionally, until Casey Prestwood of Hot Rod Circuit joined as a full-time member. In November and December 2004, the band went on an East Coast tour with the Enablers.{{cite web|url=https://www.punknews.org/article/10805/tours-the-enablers-and-drag-the-river-on-the-road|title=The Enablers and Drag The River on the road|publisher=Punknews.org|author=White, Adam|date=November 16, 2004|access-date=July 14, 2022|archive-date=October 29, 2021|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20211029092511/https://www.punknews.org/article/10805/tours-the-enablers-and-drag-the-river-on-the-road|url-status=live}} Rucker left towards the end of 2005, being replaced by former Pinhead Circus member Dave Barker.{{cite web|url=https://www.allmusic.com/artist/drag-the-river-mn0000170852/biography|title=Drag the River Biography, Songs, & Albums|publisher=AllMusic|author=Wilson, MacKenzie|access-date=July 14, 2022|archive-date=November 20, 2014|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20141120193156/http://www.allmusic.com/artist/drag-the-river-mn0000170852/biography|url-status=live}} The band went on a Midwestern tour until the end of the year, and played a handful of shows in February 2006.{{cite web|url=https://www.punknews.org/article/14292/drag-the-river-all-nobodys-announce-dates-full-length-plans|title=Drag the River (All, Nobodys) announce dates, full length plans|publisher=Punknews.org|author=Paul, Aubin|date=October 31, 2005|access-date=July 14, 2022|archive-date=November 21, 2021|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20211121134643/https://www.punknews.org/article/14292/drag-the-river-all-nobodys-announce-dates-full-length-plans|url-status=live}}
