Biology
Females are apterous whilst males are winged. It is a widespread, yet rarely recorded palearctic species.{{cite journal |last1=Crowley |first1=L |year=2018 |title=Embolemus ruddii recorded from a pitfall trap in Staffordshire. |journal=BWARS newsletter.}} They are believed to parasitise tree root-feeding planthoppers in the family Cixiidae.
