History

The moshav was founded in 1950 by Jewish immigrants and refugees from Egypt, on the land of the depopulated Palestinian town of Bayt Daras.{{Cite book|title=All That Remains: The Palestinian Villages Occupied and Depopulated by Israel in 1948|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=_By7AAAAIAAJ|first1=Walid|last1=Khalidi|authorlink=Walid Khalidi|year=1992|location=Washington D.C.|publisher=Institute for Palestine Studies|isbn=0-88728-224-5|page=87}} The main source of income for the residents was animal and arable farming.

Like many of the other moshavim in the area, its name is symbolic and taken from the Tanakh, Psalm 31:23: "the Lord preserves the faithful".{{cite book |title=Carta's Official Guide to Israel and Complete Gazetteer to all Sites in the Holy Land |isbn=9789652201867 |language=en |publisher=Carta |edition=3rd |page=148 |location=Jerusalem, Israel |date=1993}}
