The Entomological Society of Canada or Société d’Entomologie du Canada is one of Canada's most historic scientific societies.{{Cite web|url=https://esc-sec.ca/|title=Entomological Society of Canada|language=en-US|access-date=2020-04-10}} The society was founded in Toronto on April 16, 1863.{{Cite web|url=https://bioone.org/publishers/Entomological-Society-of-Canada|title=Entomological Society of Canada|website=bioone.org|access-date=2020-04-10}} The first Council was composed of President Henry Holmes Croft (1820–1883), Secretary Treasurer William Saunders (1836–1914), and Curator Rev. J. Hubbert. First called the Entomological Society of Ontario, which still exists as the provincial entomological society, it was initially based in London, Ontario before moving in 1906 to Guelph, Ontario. In 1950 the society adopted its present name and moved to Ottawa.

The Society has published The Canadian Entomologist{{Cite web|url=http://www.esc-sec.ca/journal.html|title=Entomological Society of Canada - Journal|date=2010-05-27|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20100527133232/http://www.esc-sec.ca/journal.html|access-date=2020-04-10|archive-date=2010-05-27}} since 1868,{{Cite book|last=Entomological Society of Canada (1863-1871)|url=https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/bibliography/122154|title=The Canadian Entomologist.|date=1868|publisher=Entomological Society of Canada|location=Ottawa}} and also publishes the Bulletin of the Entomological Society of Canada{{Cite web|url=https://esc-sec.ca/publications/bulletin/|title=Bulletin – Entomological Society of Canada|language=en-US|access-date=2020-04-10}} since 1969. The supplement Memoirs of the Entomological Society of Canada has appeared irregularly since 1955.
