Edward "Woody" Allen is a British record producer and singer-songwriter from Lincoln, England.{{cite web|url=http://www.fabriclondon.com/blog/view/introducing-etherwood-his-fabriclive-x-med-school-mix|title=Introducing: Etherwood & His FABRICLIVE x Med School Mix|work=Fabric|date=13 March 2013}} He has released four studio albums, five singles and numerous remixes under the name Etherwood.

Biography

Edward discovered drum and bass during the late '90s but didn't release his first production until 2012. The first recording to bear his name was a Jakwob and Etherwood remix of Lana Del Rey's "Video Games"; he also played guitar as part of Jakwob's band. He made his proper debut that November, when he appeared on Hospital Records' Sick Music 3 compilation with "Give It Up," an emotive track laced with multiple melodic keyboard lines. The similarly emotive "Spoken" was placed on Hospitality Drum & Bass 2013 in January 2013{{Cite web|url=https://www.allmusic.com/artist/etherwood-mn0003035961/biography|title=Etherwood {{!}} Biography & History {{!}} AllMusic|website=AllMusic|access-date=25 March 2018}}

His eponymous debut album Etherwood was released on 4 November 2013 through Hospital Records' imprint label Med School. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number 91,{{cite web|url=http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart/20131110/7502/|title=Official Albums Chart Top 100|work=Official Charts Company|date=10 November 2013}} the UK Dance Chart at number 4{{cite web|url=http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/dance-albums-chart/20131110/105/|title=UK Dance Albums Chart Archive|publisher=Official Charts Company|date=10 November 2013}} and the UK Indie Chart at number 11.{{cite web|url=http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/independent-albums-chart/20131110/131/|title=UK Indie Albums Chart Archive|publisher=Official Charts Company|date=10 November 2013}} Allen has also received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra shows.{{cite web|url=http://www.medschoolmusic.com/bbc-radio-1-annie-mac-premiere-etherwood-souvenirs/|title="Souvenirs", the brand new Etherwood single!!|work=Med School|date=1 May 2015|access-date=13 September 2015|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20151003072642/http://www.medschoolmusic.com/bbc-radio-1-annie-mac-premiere-etherwood-souvenirs/|archive-date=3 October 2015|url-status=dead}}{{cite web|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/82812eab-f342-4bec-8a3d-756de2e00ca6|title=BBC – Music – Etherwood|publisher=BBC Radio 1|accessdate=13 September 2015}} He also peaked at number four on Billboard 's "Next Big Sound" chart,{{cite magazine|url=http://www.billboard.com/artist/5772064/etherwood/chart|title=Etherwood – Chart history|magazine=Billboard|date=9 November 2013|accessdate=13 September 2015}} and won the "Best Newcomer DJ" and "Best Newcomer Producer" awards at the 2013 D&B Arena awards.
