Field of Fire is the second solo album by former Television guitarist Richard Lloyd.{{Cite web|url=https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=7088602|title=A Guitar-Rock Great Gets Reissued and Revisited|website=NPR.org}} It was released in 1985, six years after his solo debut, Alchemy. The album was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden, backed mostly by Swedish musicians,{{Cite web|url=http://www.trouserpress.com/entry.php?a=richard_lloyd|title=TrouserPress.com :: Richard Lloyd|website=www.trouserpress.com}} some of them from the band Lolita Pop.

The liner notes state that the album is "dedicated to the lodestone". The album sleeve also includes a quote from St. Paul's epistle to the Romans (chapter 15, verse 13, NIV): "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
