Fort Parramatta was the name given to a fort north of Wellington, New Zealand, in the 1840s.{{Cite web |title=Paremata barracks |url=https://nzhistory.govt.nz/media/photo/paremata-barracks}} It was built 1846-47. The earthquakes of 1848 and 1855 reduced the building to a ruinous condition.{{Cite web |title=HE NEW ZEALAND WARS: A HISTORY OF THE MAORI CAMPAIGNS AND THE PIONEERING PERIOD: VOLUME I (1845–64) |url=https://ndhadeliver.natlib.govt.nz/webarchive/20210104000423/http://nzetc.victoria.ac.nz/tm/scholarly/tei-Cow01NewZ-b1-1-6.html |access-date=2024-07-19 |website=ndhadeliver.natlib.govt.nz}} The remains of the fort are still visible on the Ngatitoa Domain in Porirua City, but the surrounding suburb name has been changed to "Paremata".
