George Swan Nottage (1823 – 11 April 1885) was a British politician, businessman, and photographer. In 1884 he was elected as Lord Mayor of London, and subsequently became the most recent person to die whilst holding the office.{{cite news |author= |date= 13 April 1885 |title=Death of the Lord Mayor |url=https://www.thetimes.com/tto/archive/article/1885-04-13/7/6.html |url-access=subscription |work=The Times |number=31419 |location=London |page=7 |access-date=4 November 2022}}

Nottage died after a bout of bronchitis (or pleurisy) on 11 April 1885, when still in office. This entitled him to burial in St Paul's Cathedral, where, following a funeral service, his coffin was interred in the crypt.{{cite book |last=Webb |first=David |editor-last=Saunders |editor-first=Ann Loreille |editor-link=Ann Loreille Saunders |date=2001 |chapter=The Photographic Studios of Regent Street 1850–1875 |chapter-url=https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015053406776&view=1up&seq=149 |title=London Topographical Record |url=https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015053406776 |volume=28 |location=London |publisher=London Topographical Society |isbn=0902087436 |page=133 |via=HathiTrust}}{{cite book |last=Holles |first=Isabella M. |date=1896 |title=The London Burial Grounds: Notes on Their History from the Earliest Times to the Present Day |url=https://books.google.com/books/download/The_London_Burial_Grounds.pdf |location=New York |publisher=Macmillan and Co. |page=62 |via=Google Books}}
