He was born in Mrocza and represented the club AZS Poznań.{{Citation needed|date=May 2011}} At the 1971 European Championships he won a silver medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay together with Marian Dudziak, Tadeusz Cuch and Zenon Nowosz.{{cite web|url=http://www.todor66.com/athletics/europe/1971/Men_4x100m_Relay.html|title=Men 4x100m Relay European Championships 1971 Helsinki (FIN)|publisher=Todor Krastev|access-date=30 May 2011}} He also won a gold medal in the same event at the 1970 Summer Universiade, together with Stanisław Wagner, Jan Werner and Zenon Nowosz.{{Citation needed|date=May 2011}}
