Onugkha's form attracted interest from larger clubs, and in September 2024, he signed a two-year contract with reigning champions FC Copenhagen, joining as a replacement for departing striker Orri Óskarsson.{{cite web |title=F.C. His raw strength, aerial ability and finishing skills with both feet make us believe in him as a future goalscorer for F.C. Copenhagen."
However, Onugkha struggled to establish himself in Copenhagen, making four league appearances without scoring during the first half of the 2024–25 season. Often used as a substitute, he found limited opportunities and fell down the attacking pecking order by the winter break.{{cite news |last1=Schmidt |first1=Martin |title=Onugkha er tæt på Vejle-comeback |url=https://bold.dk/fodbold/stillinger/superligaen/nyheder/onugkha-er-taet-pa-vejle-comeback |access-date=17 April 2025 |work=Bold |date=26 January 2025 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250205124807/https://bold.dk/fodbold/stillinger/superligaen/nyheder/onugkha-er-taet-pa-vejle-comeback |archive-date=5 February 2025 |language=da}}{{cite news |title=Vraget nyindkøb føler sig som den bedste angriber i FCK |url=https://sport.tv2.dk/fodbold/2024-11-06-vraget-nyindkoeb-foeler-sig-som-den-bedste-angriber-i-fck |access-date=17 April 2025 |work=TV 2 Sport |date=6 November 2024 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250417162605/https://sport.tv2.dk/fodbold/2024-11-06-vraget-nyindkoeb-foeler-sig-som-den-bedste-angriber-i-fck |archive-date=17 April 2025 |language=da-DK}}
