Recognition
Based on his previous knowledge of the Yakuza video game series franchise, Chun was surprised and pleased to be selected to voice Takayuki Yagami in the English-language version of the 2018 spin-off Judgment.{{cite web|url=https://www.videogamer.com/news/project-judge-has-english-vo-and-is-now-called-judgment|title=Project Judge has English VO and is now called Judgment|publisher=VideoGamer.com|accessdate=September 22, 2019|date=December 10, 2018|author=Ahern, Colm|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190922135953/https://www.videogamer.com/news/project-judge-has-english-vo-and-is-now-called-judgment|archive-date=September 22, 2019|url-status=live}} Yagami's voice was meant to make him sound like a "bona fide badass" regardless of language, something the localization team believed they succeeded at.{{cite web|url=https://blog.us.playstation.com/2019/03/07/judgment-launches-june-25-how-the-yakuza-spinoff-reinvents-localization/|title=Judgment Launches June 25, How the Yakuza Spinoff Reinvents Localization|publisher=Blog PlayStation|accessdate=February 20, 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190414073843/https://blog.us.playstation.com/2019/03/07/judgment-launches-june-25-how-the-yakuza-spinoff-reinvents-localization/|archive-date=April 14, 2019|url-status=live|author=Strichart, Scott|date=March 7, 2019}} Chun found his work on the game gratifying, saying, "it really did require me to let go of the tricks that you use to push a performance through, and I really did need to fall back on authenticity and genuine groundedness". Chun found staying faithful to the spirit of the Japanese version challenging but enjoyed portraying Yagami's blend of seriousness and comedy. He said having to scream in certain parts of the game was difficult.{{cite web|url=http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2019/05/interview_discussing_judgments_english_dub_and_much_more_with_lead_voice_actor_greg_chun|title=Interview: Discussing Judgment's English Dub and Much More with Lead Voice Actor Greg Chun|publisher=Push Square|date=May 31, 2019|accessdate=September 22, 2019|author=Wen, Alan|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190616195820/http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2019/05/interview_discussing_judgments_english_dub_and_much_more_with_lead_voice_actor_greg_chun|archive-date=June 16, 2019|url-status=live}} Chun was surprised by the depth of Yagami's character arc, considering his work on the game an unforgettable experience.{{cite tweet |author=GregChun |user=RGGStudio|number=1121443756207685632 |date=April 25, 2019 |title=KT|accessdate=September 23, 2019}} He found the character easy to connect with because of his realistic characterization.{{cite web |url=https://www.gaminginstincts.com/get-a-closer-look-at-judgments-takayuki-yagami-in-new-video-interview/ |title=Get a closer look at Judgment's Takayuki Yagami in new video interview|publisher=Gaming Instincts |date=April 29, 2019 |accessdate=February 2, 2020 |author=Wheatley, Chris |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200202143216/https://www.gaminginstincts.com/get-a-closer-look-at-judgments-takayuki-yagami-in-new-video-interview/ |archive-date=February 2, 2020 |url-status=live }}
