Guibemantis is a frog genus in the mantellid subfamily Mantellinae. This genus is restricted to Madagascar. At present it contains 25 species divided into two subgenera.{{cite web|last1=Frost|first1=Darrel R.|title=Guibemantis Dubois, 1992|url=http://research.amnh.org/vz/herpetology/amphibia/Amphibia/Anura/Mantellidae/Mantellinae/Guibemantis|website=Amphibian Species of the World 6.0, an Online Reference|accessdate=7 May 2016}}
Taxonomy
The genus Guibemantis was erected as a subgenus of Mantidactylus by Dubois in 1992 with the type species Guibemantis depressiceps.{{cite journal|last1=Dubois|first1=A.|title=Notes sur la classification des Ranidae (Amphibiens anoures)|journal=Bulletin Mensuel de la Société Linnéenne de Lyon|date=1992|volume=61|issue=10|pages=305–352|doi=10.3406/linly.1992.11011}} It was elevated to genus-level in 2006.{{cite journal|last1=Glaw|first1=Frank|last2=Vences|first2=Miguel|title=Phylogeny and genus-level classification of mantellid frogs (Amphibia, Anura)|journal=Organisms, Diversity & Evolution|date=2006|volume=6|issue=2006|pages=236–253|doi=10.1016/j.ode.2005.12.001|doi-access=free}}
In 1994, the subgenus Pandanusicola was erected for a group of species that are strongly associated with Pandanus screw-palms.{{cite book|last1=Glaw|first1=Frank|last2=Vences|first2=Miguel|title=A Fieldguide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Madagascar|date=1994|publisher=Vences & Glaw Verlags GmbH|location=Cologne, Germany|pages=480}} It was originally proposed as an additional subgenus of Mantidactylus, but when Guibemantis was elevated to genus-level in 2006, Pandanusicola was made a subgenus of it.
