History

Beginning in 2008, the 9000 series fleet underwent modification for use on Kintetsu Nara Line through services via the Hanshin Namba Line. These changes include an orange colour scheme similar to that of the 1000 series, an electrical connector (Umeda-facing end car only), modified end gangways, and full-colour external LED destination displays.{{Cite magazine |date=July 2008 |orig-date= |title= |script-title=ja:阪神9000系イメージー新 |trans-title=Hanshin 9000 series boasts new image |magazine=Japan Railfan Magazine |language=ja |location=Japan |publisher=Koyusha Co., Ltd. |volume=48 |issue=567 |page=102 |last= |first=}} Kintetsu Nara Line through services commenced on 20 March 2009, alongside the opening of the Hanshin Namba Line section between {{STN|Nishikujo|x}} and {{STN|Osaka Namba|x}}.{{Cite web |date=2009-03-23 |title= |script-title=ja:【阪神+近鉄】阪神なんば線開業 相互直通運転開始 |trans-title=(Hanshin + Kintetsu) Hanshin Namba Line opens, and through services commence |url=https://rail.hobidas.com/rmnews/227197/ |access-date=2024-09-20 |website=RM News |publisher=Neko Publishing |language=ja |publication-place=Japan |archive-date=20 September 2024 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20240920234702/https://rail.hobidas.com/rmnews/227197/ |url-status=live }}
