Geography

The land use is mostly grazing on native vegetation with some crop growing.

History

The town was named after pastoralist and politician Arthur Hodgson.

Hodgson Provisional School opened on 1 February 1876. On 1 September 1884, it became Hodgson State School. Hodgson Soldier's Memorial Hall was officially opened on Saturday 21 May 1949. Hodgson Community Church opened on Sunday 31 July 1949.
