History

Holland Park was the ward of Brisbane's only ever known Indigenous councillor, Robbie Williams. Williams, a Yugambeh man and Labor councillor, filled the vacancy caused by Kerry Rea's resignation in October 2007.{{Cite news|title=Indigenous councillor Robbie Williams farewelled|url=https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/indigenous-councillor-farewelled/news-story/afcae8ca5eb4f388bbb93800cdbace6d|newspaper=The Courier-Mail|last=Wenham|first=Margaret|date=28 December 2007|access-date=25 August 2023}} In December that year, he died of a heart attack. The seat remained vacant until the election in March 2008.{{Cite web|url=https://www.pollbludger.net/category/brisbane-city-council-elections/page/2/|title=Brisbane City Council election live|publisher=The Poll Bludger|last=Bowe|first=William|date=15 March 2008|access-date=25 August 2023}}
