"I Want to Go Where No One Knows Me" is a song written by Kenneth Grant and Jerry Jericho. It was originally recorded by American country singer Jean Shepard. Released as a single in 1958, it reached the top 20 of the US country chart.

Background and recording

Release and chart performance

"I Want to Go Where No One Knows Me" was released in October 1956 by Capitol Records. It was distributed as a seven-inch vinyl single. The disc included a B-side titled "Just Another Girl" (composed by Harlan Howard).
