The inauguration of Alberto Fernández as the 58th president of Argentina took place on 10 December 2019. Fernández wished for the bulk of the ceremony, including the concession of the presidential symbols, to take place in the Congressional Palace (as in the previous inaugurations of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner), rather than in the Casa Rosada,{{Cite web|url=https://www.clarin.com/politica/cuando-asume-alberto-fernandez-donde-sera-ceremonia-casa-rosada-congreso_0_bXFEIuIH.html|title=Dónde será la ceremonia de asunción de Alberto Fernández ¿en la Casa Rosada o en el Congreso de la Nación?|last=Clarín.com|website=www.clarin.com|date=4 December 2019 |language=es|access-date=2019-12-11}} as it was the case in 2015. In the end the outgoing president, Mauricio Macri reluctantly approved. As planned, he was sworn in at the Chamber of Deputies Hall of the National Congress, before outgoing President Mauricio Macri, outgoing Vice President Gabriela Michetti and Vice President-elect Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who also assumed as Vice President.{{Cite web|url=https://www.eldiario.es/internacional/peronista-Alberto-Fernandez-presidente-Argentina_0_972553458.html|title=El peronista Alberto Fernández jura el cargo como presidente de Argentina|last=EFE|website=eldiario.es|date=10 December 2019 |language=es|access-date=2019-12-11}}
