Jeevi of Idlebrain.com gave the film a mixed review, citing "the first half is average and second half is a letdown" and "the main drawback of the film is the mistiming of comedy". He added "comedy films do not work out when the comedy timing in those films goes amiss".{{cite web|url=http://www.idlebrain.com/movie/archive/mr-isvk.html|title=Telugu cinema Review - Intlo Srimati Veedhilo Kumari - Srikanth, Prabhudeva, Prakash Raj & Arti Chabria|publisher=idlebrain.com|accessdate=2015-12-19}} Another critic from MyMazaa.com stated "on the evidence of this film, the director lacks the skill to handle such subjects with finesse" and added "there is a thin line dividing comedy and confusion and that he lets the film slip into the latter stream".{{cite web|url=http://mymazaa.com/telugu/reviews/movie/Intlo+Srimathi+Veedhilo+Kumari.html|title=Comical errors - Intlo Srimathi Veedhilo Kumari Movie Review|date=13 August 2004 |publisher=mymazaa.com|accessdate=2015-12-19}}{{cite web|url=https://movies.fullhyderabad.com/intlo-sreemathi-veedhilo-kumari/telugu/intlo-sreemathi-veedhilo-kumari-movie-reviews-1186-2.html|title=Intlo Sreemathi Veedhilo Kumari Review|last=Menon|first=Deepa|publisher=fullhyd.com|accessdate=2015-12-19}}
The film did not perform well at the box office, and post-release, Srikanth stated he did the film for "emotional reasons" and signed the film on the belief that Allu Aravind had a good stature in the industry.{{cite web|url=http://www.thehindu.com/thehindu/mp/2004/11/24/stories/2004112400550100.htm|title=Metro Plus Hyderabad / Personality : Steady success|author=hysvm|work=The Hindu|date=2004-11-24|accessdate=2015-12-19|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20050507111416/https://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/mp/2004/11/24/stories/2004112400550100.htm|archive-date=7 May 2005}}
