Iron tetraboride (FeB4) is a superhard superconductor (Tc < 3K) consisting of iron and boron. Iron tetraboride does not occur in nature and can be created synthetically.{{cite journal|title=Discovery of a superhard iron tetraboride superconductor|last1=Gou|first1=Huiyang|date=18 April 2013 |arxiv=1304.5106 |doi=10.1103/PhysRevLett.111.157002 |volume=111 |journal=Physical Review Letters|issue=15|bibcode=2013PhRvL.111o7002G |pmid=24160619 |page=157002|s2cid=11906548}}{{cite journal|url=http://physics.aps.org/featured-article-pdf/10.1103/PhysRevLett.111.157002 |date=11 October 2013 |title=Discovery of a Superhard Iron Tetraboride Superconductor |journal=Physical Review Letters |volume=111 |issue=157002 |pages=157002 |doi=10.1103/PhysRevLett.111.157002 |accessdate=17 October 2013 |last1=Gou|first1=Huiyang |last2=Dubrovinskaia|first2=Natalia |last3=Bykova|first3=Elena |last4=Tsirlin|first4=Alexander A. |last5=Kasinathan|first5=Deepa |last6=Schnelle|first6=Walter |last7=Richter|first7=Asta |last8=Merlini|first8=Marco |last9=Hanfland|first9=Michael |last10=Abakumov|first10=Artem M. |last11=Batuk|first11=Dmitry |last12=Van Tendeloo|first12=Gustaaf |last13=Nakajima|first13=Yoichi |last14=Kolmogorov|first14=Aleksey N. |last15=Dubrovinsky|first15=Leonid |bibcode=2013PhRvL.111o7002G |pmid=24160619 |arxiv=1304.5106|s2cid=11906548 }} Its molecular structure was predicted using computer models.{{cite news |author=Rachel Coker |title=First Computer-Designed Superconductor Created |url=https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/10/131008132851.htm |accessdate=25 November 2013 |newspaper=ScienceDaily |date=8 October 2013}}
