Career

Bártl started his athletic career as a track and field athlete. In 1996 he registered a personal best shot put of {{convert|18.81|m|ftin}} and in 1998 a personal best discus throw of {{convert|54.58|m|ftin}}.

Bártl started his strongman career in 1999 IFSA Czech Grand Prix with a fifth place finish and was quickly noted for his grip strength.{{Cite web
