Juan Luis Cebrián Echarri (born 30 October 1944){{cite news|url=http://www.rae.es/academicos/juan-luis-cebrian-echarri |title=Juan Luis Cebrián Echarri |language=Spanish |newspaper=Real Academia Española |accessdate=12 May 2016}} is a Spanish journalist and businessman, the co-founder of El País. He was CEO of Prisa, a Spanish media conglomerate, from 2012 to 2017, until ousted by Joseph Oughourlian.
Early life and education

Career

He was the founding editor of the daily newspaper El País, in which he edited from 1976 and 1988.
Between 1986 and 1988 he was the chairman of the International Press Institute (I.P.I) .{{cn|date=April 2024}}
In December 1996, Cebrián was elected to Seat V of the Real Academia Española, and took up his seat in May 1997.
