Kayo Sports is an Australian over-the-top video streaming service owned by Hubbl, a subsidiary of Foxtel. Launched in November 2018, the service is oriented towards sports, carrying live and on-demand content from Foxtel's Fox Sports networks, and third-party partners such as ESPN Australia and Racing.com.

History

In March 2018 it was reported Foxtel were investigating an over-the-top sports streaming service to appeal to customers not willing to subscribe to traditional satellite or cable. At the time the service had reportedly been in development for more than nine months but was yet to be green lit. It was reported the new service would not use the Foxtel branding.{{cite news|last=Mason|first=Max|title=Foxtel executives crunching the numbers on standalone Fox Sports streaming service|url=https://www.afr.com/companies/media-and-marketing/foxtel-executives-crunching-the-numbers-on-standalone-fox-sports-streaming-service-20180325-h0xxd0|newspaper=Australian Financial Review|date=25 March 2018|access-date=24 December 2019|url-access=subscription}} In August 2018 it was reported Foxtel had green lit this new sports streaming service, which was code named Project Martian. It was predicted the service would launch in late 2018 coinciding with a cricket event following Foxtel's recent new six year broadcasting deal with Cricket Australia.{{cite web|last=Tyeson|first=Cam|title=Foxtel Might Ditch 'Now' In Yet Another Shakeup Of Their Streaming Services|url= https://www.pedestrian.tv/tech/foxtel-now-could-be-phased-out/|work=Pedestrian|date=7 August 2018|access-date=25 December 2019}}{{cite news|url=https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/cricket-heads-to-pay-tv-in-landmark-deal-with-seven-and-foxtel-20180413-p4z9jn.html|title=Cricket heads to pay TV in landmark deal with Seven and Foxtel|last=Duke|first=Jennifer|date=13 April 2018|newspaper=Sydney Morning Herald|access-date=2 January 2019}}
