Political career

Towle's political career began in June 2011 when she won the candidacy for the Wildrose in Innisfail-Sylvan Lake, after citing the need to improve health care, to give a voice to grassroots Albertans and to protect property rights for landowners.{{cite web |first=Justina |last=Contenteni |date=2011-06-07 |access-date=2013-06-10 |title=Wildrose Party Candidates |url=http://www.innisfailprovince.ca/article/20110607/INN0801/306079943/-1/inn08/wildrose-party-candidates }}

On April 23, 2012, Towle became MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake, winning 46 per cent of the vote and defeating the incumbent PC MLA, Luke Ouellette.{{cite web |first=Staff |last=Innisfal Province |date=2012-04-23 |access-date=2013-06-10 |title=Wildrose candidate Kerry Towle new MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake |url=http://www.innisfailprovince.ca/article/20120424/INN0801/120429996/-1/inn08/wildrose-candidate-kerry-towle-new-mla-for-innisfail-sylvan-lake }}
