History

In 2014, high school students Philip Westre and Wilhelm Nylund started developing their first game called Air Brawl, which is "a fast-paced multiplayer dogfighting game". The game was nominated for the Swedish Game Awards in 2014, and a year after, on June 2, 2015, was published on Steam.{{Cite web |last= |date=2021-11-17 |title=Swedish company Landfall Games protects Colombian rainforest |url=https://gamesforest.club/blog/swedish-company-landfall-games-protects-colombian-rainforest/ |access-date=2025-05-06 |website=Gamesforest.club |language=}} In 2015, Philip and Wilhelm co-founded a company, which was initially called "Wilnyls Game Company".{{Cite web |title=Air Brawl Release Information for PC - GameFAQs |url=https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/165353-air-brawl/data?validate=1 |access-date=2025-05-01 |website=gamefaqs.gamespot.com}} Later, Petter Henriksson and Karl Flodin joined the development team, and the company was renamed to "Landfall", as it remains today.

In 2015, after the release of Square Brawl, the development of Clustertruck began. The game was described as a "chaotic physics-based truckformer" and inspired by Wilhelm Nylund's real-life story, when while traveling home from Gamescom, he imagined himself escaping traffic by jumping on trucks to get home faster,{{Cite web |date=2020-12-04 |title=Gamasutra - Fleshing out Clustertruck's high concept into a satisfying game |url=http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/283420/Fleshing_out_Clustertrucks__high_concept_into_a_satisfying_game.php |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201204080750/http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/283420/Fleshing_out_Clustertrucks__high_concept_into_a_satisfying_game.php |url-status=dead |archive-date=2020-12-04 |access-date=2025-05-01 }} which led to the creation of the prototype of the game. Clustertruck was released on Steam by tinyBuild on September 27, 2016. The game was often compared to "The floor is lava".{{Cite web |date=2018-03-19 |title=Review: Clustertruck (Switch eShop) |url=https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/switch-eshop/clustertruck |access-date=2025-05-01 |website=Nintendo Life |language=en-GB}} Jed Whitaker from Destructoid described it as "stupid, fun, stupid fun", though the game had set the genre for all future Landfall games.

In November 2016, Landfall showed an alpha-version of their new project, known as Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (abbreviated TABS), which was a physics-based strategy game, where the player can create armies for a limited amount of in-game value to defeat an enemy force.{{Cite web |title=TOTALLY ACCURATE BATTLE SIMULATOR Is Indeed Totally Accurate and Totally Hilarious |url=https://nerdist.com/article/totally-accurate-battle-simulator-is-indeed-totally-accurate-and-totally-hilarious/ |access-date=2025-05-01 |website=Nerdist |date=21 July 2016 |language=en-US}} The game was released on April 2, 2021, together with other game, known as Rounds.{{Cite web |title=Landfall отметила 1 апреля релизом сразу четырёх игр — Игромания |url=https://www.igromania.ru/news/103826/Landfall_otmetila_1_aprelya_relizom_srazu_chetyryoh_igr.html |access-date=2025-05-01 |website=Igromania.ru |language=ru}} The game received generally positive reviews, and by now remains the biggest game of Landfall, having over 120,000 reviews on Steam, of which about 97% are positive.

On April 1, 2024, Landfall released a co-op survival-horror video game called Content Warning. It reached over 50 thousand concurrent players in the first twelve hours after the launch and about 2.2 million sales after 2 months after on Steam.{{Cite web |title=Продано 2,2 миллиона копий Content Warning.
