Background
Florida Georgia Line appeared on the May 18 episode of Songland.{{Cite web |last=Trapp |first=Philip|title=WATCH: Florida Georgia Line Drop Winning 'Songland' Tune 'Second Guessing' |url=https://tasteofcountry.com/florida-georgia-line-second-guessing-songland/ |access-date=2022-04-21 |website=Taste of Country |language=en}} Two days later, on May 20, 2020, they released the 6-Pack EP, which included the song Second Guessing, which had won the Songland episode. All six songs from the EP are included on Life Rolls On. On December 4, 2020, the album and its release date were announced in a tweet.
Touring
While a tour for the album, the I Love My Country Tour, was planned, it was cancelled in August of 2021, with the COVID-19 pandemic cited as the reason.{{Cite magazine |last=Hudak |first=Joseph |date=2021-08-20 |title=Florida Georgia Line Cancel Tour, Cite Rising Covid Cases |url=https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-country/florida-georgia-line-cancel-tour-covid-1214865/ |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220418013234/https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-country/florida-georgia-line-cancel-tour-covid-1214865/ |archive-date=2022-04-18 |access-date=2022-04-20 |magazine=Rolling Stone |language=en-US}} However, Bob Lefsetz asserted in his newsletter that the actual reason was low ticket sales.{{Cite web|date=2021-08-22|title=Re-Florida Georgia Line|url=https://lefsetz.com/wordpress/2021/08/21/re-florida-georgia-line/|access-date=2022-04-20|website=Lefsetz Letter}}{{Cite news|first=Emily|last=Yahr|title=Analysis {{!}} After rumors of a rift, country duo Florida Georgia Line decided the music is more important|language=en-US|newspaper=Washington Post|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2021/12/27/florida-georgia-line-rumors-together/|access-date=2022-04-20|issn=0190-8286}}
