List of Superfund sites in Michigan

{{Short description|none}}

{{Use mdy dates|date=April 2015}}

This is a list of Superfund sites in Michigan designated under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) environmental law. The CERCLA federal law of 1980 authorized the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create a list of polluted locations requiring a long-term response to clean up hazardous material contaminations.P.L. 96-510, ({{USC|42|9601|9675}}), December 11, 1980. These locations are known as Superfund sites, and are placed on the National Priorities List (NPL).

The NPL guides the EPA in "determining which sites warrant further investigation" for environmental remediation. As of June 2021, there were 65 active Superfund sites on the National Priorities List in Michigan.{{Cite web |last=Clark |first=Liesl Eichler |date= |title=FISCAL YEAR 2020 FEDERAL SUPERFUND LEGISLATIVE REPORT |url=https://www.michigan.gov/egle/-/media/Project/Websites/egle/Documents/Reports/RRD/Report-2021-06-Federal-Superfund-FY20.pdf |website=www.michigan.gov}}{{cite web| url=http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/npl/ | archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20000901062526/http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/npl/ | url-status=dead | archive-date=September 1, 2000 |title=National Priorities List |publisher=United States Environmental Protection Agency |access-date=January 18, 2011}} Two additional sites are currently proposed for entry on the list. Seventeen sites have been cleaned up and removed from the list.
