Logan Witness

The Logan Witness was a weekly English-language newspaper published in Beenleigh, Queensland, Australia from 9 February 1878 to 10 June 1893. The paper was four pages, double demy (57 cm x 90 cm) in size and issued on a Saturday.
History

Initially optimistic that the rapid advancement of the district entitled it to journalistic representation,{{cite book|last1=Kirkpatrick|first1=Rod|title=Sworn to no master: a history of the provincial press in Queensland to 1930|date=1984|publisher=Darling Downs Institute Press|location=Toowoomba|isbn=9780909306601|page=180}} the paper struggled financially and was sold to Mr John Hinchcliffe by April 1879.{{cite news |url=http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article887013 |title=Beenleigh. |newspaper=The Brisbane Courier |date=12 April 1879 |accessdate=20 January 2015 |page=7 |publisher=National Library of Australia}} During his proprietorship Hinchcliffe changed the newspaper name to The Logan Witness, advocated for the advancement of the district and spoke out against anything opposed to those interests.
