Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 6 is one of the subunits of the Mediator complex. It is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MED6 gene.{{cite journal | vauthors = Jiang YW, Veschambre P, Erdjument-Bromage H, Tempst P, Conaway JW, Conaway RC, Kornberg RD | title = Mammalian mediator of transcriptional regulation and its possible role as an end-point of signal transduction pathways | journal = Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A | volume = 95 | issue = 15 | pages = 8538–8543 | date = Aug 1998 | pmid = 9671713 | pmc = 21111 | doi = 10.1073/pnas.95.15.8538 | bibcode = 1998PNAS...95.8538J | doi-access = free }}{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: MED6 mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription, subunit 6 homolog (S. cerevisiae)| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=10001| accessdate = }}
Protein family
This family of proteins represent the transcriptional mediator protein subunit 6 that is required for activation of many RNA polymerase II promoters and which are conserved from yeast to humans.{{cite journal | vauthors = Lee YC, Min S, Gim BS, Kim YJ | title = A transcriptional mediator protein that is required for activation of many RNA polymerase II promoters and is conserved from yeast to humans | journal = Mol.
