"Make a Movie" is a song by American rapper Twista featuring American singer Chris Brown, released by Get Money Gang and EMI on August 24, 2010 as the second single from the former's eighth studio album, The Perfect Storm (2010).{{cite web|url=https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/make-movie-feat-chris-brown/id387531643 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20100912102619/http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/make-movie-feat-chris-brown/id387531643 |url-status=dead |archive-date=September 12, 2010 |title=Make a Movie (feat. Background

The song was put down as being unoriginal, as there been other songs titled "Make a Movie" about making sex tapes, such as "Make a Movie" by Chamillionaire, which Twista is featured on.{{cite news|url=http://www.djbooth.net/index/tracks/review/twista-make-movie |title=Twista ft. Chris Brown - Make a Movie - Listen Now |newspaper=Djbooth |publisher=Djbooth.net |access-date=December 4, 2010}} The original version of the track featured T-Pain on the hook but the final version features Chris Brown. The collaboration was said to be unexpected and geared towards a pop audience.{{cite web|url=http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/gowhere-hip-hop/2010/08/download-twista-make-a-movie-f-chris-brown.html |title=Download Twista 'Make A Movie' f/ Chris Brown - Gowhere Hip Hop |publisher=Chicagonow.com |date=March 23, 2010 |access-date=December 4, 2010}} Twista explained that the collaboration came around due to mutual respect between the two.{{cite web|last=Rodriguez |first=Jayson |url=http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1647310/20100907/twista.jhtml |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20100909061933/http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1647310/20100907/twista.jhtml |url-status=dead |archive-date=September 9, 2010 |title=Chris Brown 'Jumped' On 'Make A Movie,' Twista Says - Music, Celebrity, Artist News |publisher=MTV |date=September 7, 2010 |access-date=December 4, 2010}} The song was described by Rap-Up as "Twista spiting his rapid flow while Chris Brown croons over the seductive track."{{Cite web|url=http://www.rap-up.com/2010/08/09/new-music-twista-f-chris-brown-make-a-movie/|title = New Music: Twista f/ Chris Brown – 'Make a Movie'|website=Rap-up.com}}

Critical reception

The critical reception to "Make A Movie" was generally mixed. AllMusic's David Jeffries was also critical: "when Twista compares his shutter speed to his sex speed on 'Make a Movie', it's a cringe-worthy moment even R. Kelly would avoid".{{Cite web|url=https://www.allmusic.com/album/the-perfect-storm-mw0002052677|title=The Perfect Storm - Twista | Songs, Reviews, Credits |website=AllMusic|access-date=28 December 2021 }} DJBooth.net also wrote a mixed review: "Make a Movie, a quasi-R rated jam that brings on recovering superstar Chris Brown for a Kardashian inspired ode to cinematic intercourse. Like much of Twista's more radio ready work, it's not particularly impressive, but unless you're dead set against having a good time you won't be able to stop your head from nodding."{{Cite web |url=http://www.djbooth.net/index/albums/review/twista-the-perfect-storm-11101001/ |title=Twista - the Perfect Storm - Stream & Read Album Reviews |access-date=August 14, 2013 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120920061033/http://www.djbooth.net/index/albums/review/twista-the-perfect-storm-11101001/ |archive-date=September 20, 2012 |url-status=dead }} William E. Ketchum III of HipHopDX wrote a more positive review: "Even though 'Make A Movie' is formulaic, it wins with its cheesy porno references, a solid Chris Brown chorus, and a silky instrumental."{{Cite web |url=http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/album-reviews/id.1563/title.twista-the-perfect-storm |title=Twista - the Perfect Storm | Read Hip Hop Reviews, Rap Reviews & Hip Hop Album Reviews | HipHop DX |access-date=2013-08-14 |archive-date=2013-07-22 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130722045736/http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/album-reviews/id.1563/title.twista-the-perfect-storm |url-status=dead }} RapReviews was also positive about the song: "there are songs like 'Make a Movie' featuring Chris Brown which harken back to the freak flop flow of 'Slow Jamz', with the perfectly contradictory combination of fast slung lyrics to slow quiet storm grooves."{{Cite web|url=http://www.rapreviews.com/archive/2010_11_perfectstorm.html|title = Twista :: The Perfect Storm :: Get Money Gang, LLC|website=Rapreviews.com}}
