Maksim Valerevich Zyuzyakin (Russian: Максим Валерьевич Зюзякин) (born 13 January 1991) is a Russian professional ice hockey player who is currently under contract to HC Khimik Voskresensk in the Supreme Hockey League (VHL). He has played for various KHL,{{cite web|last1=KHL|title=Максим Зюзякин (Maxim Zyuzyakin) [Russian]|url=http://www.khl.ru/players/15734/|accessdate=2 July 2014}} (VHL),{{cite web|last1=VHL|title=Максим Зюзякин [Russian]|url=http://www.vhlru.ru/players/15734/|accessdate=2 July 2014}} and Junior Hockey League (MHL) teams.
Zyuzyakin was the only rostered member of the team not aboard the 2011 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl plane crash. He had been asked by head coach Brad McCrimmon to stay behind in Yaroslavl to rest and meet with the team in Moscow for their next scheduled game against Spartak, which was never played, as Lokomotiv Yaroslavl cancelled their participation in the 2011–12 KHL season as a result of the crash.{{cite web | url=http://sport.ria.ru/hockey/20110908/432348543.html | script-title=ru:Хоккеист Урычев не должен был лететь с "Локомотивом" в Минск | publisher=RIA Novosti | date=2011-09-08 | language=Russian | accessdate=2011-09-08}} Instead Russian hockey coach Petr Vorobiev led the team as it played part of the 2011–12 season in the VHL, the second highest level of Russian hockey.{{cite news|last1=Schwirtz|first1=Michael|title=A Soviet-style builder of teams is weary, but undaunted; After a crash wiped out roster, coach also acted as therapist to young squad|url=http://ihtbd.com/ihtuser/print/old%20THT/July-2012/20-07-2012/April-12/a3004x14xxxxxxxxx.pdf|accessdate=2 July 2014|work=International Herald Tribune|date=30 April 2012}} As the only surviving player, Zyuzyakin later was named captain of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl for the 2011–12 VHL season and became a symbol of the team's revival.{{cite news|last1=Schwirtz|first1=Michael|title=A City Embraces the Soul of Its Team|url=https://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/15/sports/hockey/russian-city-embraces-soul-of-lokomotiv-team-lost-in-crash.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0|accessdate=2 July 2014|work=The New York Times|date=14 December 2011}}
