Mythology

In Ovid's Metamorphoses, as the runaway Medea flies above Greece in the chariot her grandfather gave her, she passes over Mount Cyllene, where Menephron would incestously lie with his mother in an animal-like manner.Ovid, Metamorphoses [https://www.loebclassics.com/view/ovid-metamorphoses/1916/pb_LCL042.369.xml 7.386-387]{{sfn|Pavlock|2009|page=[https://books.google.com/books?id=y0zJUnW1w1gC&pg=PA58 58]}}

Hyginus in Fabulae confirms that Menephron slept with his mother, here named Blias/Bliade, and adds that he also slept with his daughter Cyllene as well.Hyginus, Fabulae [https://topostext.org/work/206#253 253]{{sfn|Anderson|1972|loc=[https://books.google.com/books?id=0RUhlNVR758C&pg=PA285 note on lines 7.386-387]}}
