Examples

Former professional players Robert Enke and Gary Speed have died by suicide; both suffered from depression. Jean-Marc Bosman struggled to find work after his judicial challenge of the football transfer rules led to the Bosman ruling in 1995. In May 2016, professional footballer Chris Mitchell committed suicide.
