Merty Merty (also known as Merty Merty Station) is both a pastoral lease that once operated as a cattle station in north east South Australia and a locality. In April 2013, the land occupying the appropriate extent of the pastoral lease was gazetted by the Government of South Australia as a locality under the name Merty Merty.{{cite web|title=Search results for ‘Merty Merty, LOCB' with the following datasets being selected - 'Suburbs and Localities' and 'Gazetteer' |url=http://location.sa.gov.au/viewer/|website=Location SA Map Viewer|publisher=Government of South Australia|accessdate=19 February 2018}}

History
The station was formed in 1919 after being sub-divided out of Innamincka Station, Tinga Tingana and Strzelecki.
Sidney Kidman acquired the property in 1924 but only grazed cattle there intermittently. Kidman had little faith in the waterholes along the Strzelecki for moving cattle south and during drought would take them via Innamincka and down the Birdsville Track.{{cite web|url=http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/heritage/pdfs/surveys/birdsville/sections_1-2.pdf |title=Heritage of the Birdsville and Strzelecki Tracks |accessdate=7 March 2016 |date=December 2002 |author1=Lyn Leader-Elliott |author2=Iris Iwanicki |publisher=Commonwealth of Australia |url-status=bot: unknown |archiveurl=https://webarchive.nla.gov.au/awa/20040717140000/http://pandora.nla.gov.au/pan/42990/20040718-0000/www.environment.sa.gov.au/heritage/pdfs/surveys/birdsville/sections_1-2.pdf |archivedate=17 July 2004 }}{{cbignore|bot=medic}}
